The appartement
It's in a nice setting
with a small garden, at the end of a long
courtyard that allows us to combine
the sound of bird songs and being in the
cultural center of Paris. The avenue des
Gobelins is a short walk from the pantheon,
the Sorbonne and directly overlooks the
rue Mouffetard, famous for its restaurants.
That was on a neighbourhood gathering (The neighbourhood is very safe and
friendly).
Fully equipped, this appartement can house
a family with three children. It has a living room, two big bedrooms
and a smaller bedroom. One of the big bedrooms has been adapted to
fit a bed for a baby and a second floor with a bed for bigger child.
The "quartier de la rue Mouffetard", placed in the fifth district, is popular with locals as well as tourists. In the rue Mouffetard, you can buy wine or cheese from specialized
shops, you can buy food from the market and eat in
restaurants representing almost every country.
The fifth district in Paris is known as the latin quarter ("quartier latin") for
it has many roman ruins (the Lutece arenas are 300 yards away). It contains the
oldest schools and universities of Paris.
There are many ruins to visit
and many parks (Luxembourg) and gardens (jardin des plantes) to stroll through.
There are numerous restaurants that will fit every budget, and 2 metro stations
away, there is the asian quarter of Paris where you will be able to shop or eat
in a more exotic fashion.
Access
The Gobelins metro station is very close and is on line number 7 direct to the
Gare de l'Est (train station). Several busses go past the avenue, like the 91
that goes to the Montparnasse station or to Austerlitz and Gare de Lyon. There
is also a taxi station right there with some taxis waiting at any time of the night.
As you have noticed, we're very proud of our district and we believe it's
the best place on earth. If you'd rather use a bike, we have a
closed room for the bikes where you can leave them safely.
